"Fuengirola's Seaside Sweepstakes: Spain's Most Decorated Beaches!"

"Fuengirola's Shores Shine: Spain's Unbeatable Beach Bonanza!"

In a feat that has everyone saying "Seas the day!" Fuengirola has carved its name in the sands of history as the one and only Spanish town to receive a dazzling array of beach awards. Mayor Ana Mula, decked in beach-themed flair, raised the flags of victory on a sunny July 20th at San Francisco Pier, joined by a merry band of tourism industry representatives and dedicated coastal staff.

With an air of triumph, Mayor Mula proudly proclaimed, "Fuengirola is the ultimate tourist treasure, renowned for our pristine beaches. We've bagged the highest number of awards for our stunning coastline and top-notch services. 100 per cent of our sandy havens have been celebrated, making us the reigning champions of Spain's beach scene. It's all thanks to the tremendous efforts of our beach businesses, bars, hardworking staff, and our unwavering council team!"

Fuengirola's beaches have been a striking sight for sore eyes, boasting Blue Flags fluttering proudly for four consecutive years, accompanied by the prestigious Quality Q and brand-new Sustainability S beach awards. And if that's not enough to make you go "wave-tastic," they're also raising the flags of accessibility at El Castillo, Fuengirola, Boliches-Gaviotas, and Carvajal beaches, making it a win-win for everyone.

Stretching over seven kilometres of accessible shoreline, Fuengirola ensures that sun, sea, and sand are for everyone. With 29 beach bars and 64 access points equipped with showers and seating, they've got you covered. For those with reduced mobility, four specially boarded areas have been set up, making beach bliss accessible, supported by the ever-watchful lifeguards.

Not content with just being a pretty face, Fuengirola's beaches also play host to a variety of water sports and recreational boating, including five designated areas for paddle boats and two for paddle surfing. Surf's up, beach buddies!

Behind the scenes, a bustling team of over 150 dedicated individuals work tirelessly during peak season to maintain the pristine shores. From vigilant police and watchful lifeguards to efficient maintenance teams and beach patrol, they've got it all covered, with a drone unit keeping an eagle eye on the coastal magic.

Fuengirola's love affair with sustainability is evident in their fleet of eco-friendly vehicles, three beach cleaning champs, and the addition of 'eco-islands' to help recycle waste. They're making sure the waves of change ripple through their paradise.

But the excellence doesn't stop there! The beaches sport "solmaforos" at lifeguard stations, reminding sun-worshippers to slip, slop, slap, and a megaphone system that broadcasts announcements, ensuring that beach-goers stay well-informed.

Fuengirola's beaches are living proof that they're not just a pretty coastline – they're a haven of excellence and accessibility for all, and those well-deserved flag awards are a testament to their sun-soaked success!
