In a tale that will surely make the rounds at the local pub, a 53-year-old British daredevil found himself in a scorching predicament atop the Sierra de Mijas mountain range. The unforgiving heat had taken its toll, leaving our intrepid explorer with a case of heatstroke that demanded a swift rescue mission. Realizing he couldn't find his way back to safety on his own, he reached out to his wife for a lifeline, who wasted no time alerting the valiant Mijas Local Police.



Yesterday, on the eventful Tuesday of July 11, the Mijas Local Police sprang into action to save the day. Armed with determination and a trusty police vehicle, they rushed to the coordinates shared by the concerned spouse. Lo and behold, at the Mirador de la Cañada de Gertrudis, they discovered the heat-stricken Brit in relatively good spirits. With a sigh of relief, they whisked him away in their vehicle, embarking on a daring rescue mission that would lead them to the awaiting arms of his worried wife at the Mijas Pueblo tourist office.


As the Costa del Sol finds itself caught in the fiery grip of a scorching heatwave, this Wednesday promises to be the pinnacle of extreme temperature madness. A blazing red warning has been issued, signaling temperatures soaring above the 40-degree mark. In light of this sweltering situation, Mijas Town Hall has stepped forward to remind the public of the importance of caution. They implore everyone to steer clear of outdoor activities during the sweltering midday hours, shield themselves from the scorching sun with ample protection, hydrate frequently with refreshing liquids, don lightweight attire, and, most importantly, refrain from leaving people or pets trapped in sweltering vehicles.


Amidst the sun-soaked trials and tribulations, let us celebrate the heroics of the Mijas Local Police, ensuring that adventurers like our heat stroked British protagonist can return safely from their sweltering escapades.
